What is the normal data of the Camry air flow sensor?
2024-11-05
The normal data of the Camry air flow sensor is generally about 2.5g/s.The air flow sensor plays a vital role in the engine electronic systems of Camry cars. If the air flow sensor readings fall outside of these ranges, it may indicate a problem with the sensor or the air intake system, which should be inspected and potentially repaired by a qualified mechanic. As a key signal source for controlling the mixture concentration of the ECU, the airflow sensors can monitor the change in the intake volume in real-time. When the air intake increases, the ECU will increase the fuel injection accordingly to maintain the proper air-fuel ratio and ensure the efficient operation of the engine.
There are two main failure forms of the air flow sensors:
One is that the signal is beyond the specified rage, which usually means the sensor is faulty. At this point, the electronic control system of modern cars will activate the fault emergency mechanism, and use the signal of the throttle position sensor to replace it which maintains the basic operation of the engine.
Another form of failure is an inaccurate signal, a drift in sensor performance. In this case, although the signal is still within the prescribed range, due to its inaccuracy, the ECU will control the spaying fuel amount according to the wrong air flow signal, which may cause the mixture to be too thin or too thick, then will affect the engine’s performance and emission. If a large deviation between the exhaust gas composition and the standard value occurs, It’s likely to be due to the poor performance of the air flow sensor. When this happens, further inspection and repair of the sensor is required to restore the engine to normal working condition.
