What's Automobile air flow meter MAF?
1. Air flow meter: detects the intake volume and then gives it to the engine computer. The engine computer controls the injector according to the computer to make the fuel and air reach an optimal air-fuel ratio.
2. Installation location: Installed on the intake pipe at the rear end of the air filter.
3. The following mainly introduces the hot film air flow meter, which is divided into four-wire and five-wire types.
Four-wire hot film air flow meter: powered by the main relay or oil pump relay (12V), forging (0V), when idling, the No. 1 signal line is plugged in to measure 1.1V, 1.2V (between 0.8V-1.5V), the No. 2 signal line is plugged in to measure 2.3V, about 2.4V, and unplugged to measure a 5V power supply line.
Five-wire heated film air flow meter: powered by the main relay or oil pump relay (12V), two grounding wires (0V), at idle speed, plug in the No. 1 signal line to measure 1.1V, 1.2V (between 0.8V-1.5V), plug in the No. 2 signal line to measure 2.3V, 2.4V, unplug the plug to measure a 5V power supply line.
4. Air flow meter data flow
Volkswagen model data flow: 2-4g/s, 2.0T engine 2.7-2.9g/s, 1.4T, 1.8T engine 2.2-2.4g/s, naturally aspirated engine about 3g/s, Corolla, Corolla about 4g/s
American model data flow: 2-4g/s, Cruze 1.6T, 1.8T engine 2.6g/s, Regal 2.4T, 1.6T engine 3-3.5g/s
5. Air flow meter damage status: unstable idle speed, weak acceleration, black smoke, shaking, and vehicle collision.
Severe status: The vehicle will slowly stall during driving. If the vehicle is started again, it will be very difficult to start. If the air flow meter of some vehicles is damaged, the vehicle will not start directly (mainly depending on how many sensors are installed at the vehicle's intake end)
6. The difference between the intake pressure sensor and the air flow meter: The accuracy of the two is not at the same level. Mid-to-high-end vehicles will install both on the engine to ensure that the engine works more efficiently.
7. The data flow becomes larger: the throttle opening becomes larger, the air flow meter is distorted, and the air flow meter is damaged
8. The data flow becomes smaller: air leakage behind the air flow meter, throttle blockage, air flow meter distortion, air filter blockage, and three-way catalytic blockage.
